Three countries. Multiple careers. One mission: helping professionals grow through communication.
"I built structures before I built careers."
In 2002, I left Peru to build a better future in the United States. For the next ten years, I worked in construction—the first two as a helper learning the trade from an experienced tradesman, and the rest running my own independent contracting business with my own clients. With what I earned, I put my oldest son through university at Cal State Fullerton—today, he's a working accountant.
Construction taught me discipline, resilience, and the value of consistent effort. Learning is no different.
Looking back, I realize every career taught me something I still rely on today.
Sales taught me how to connect with people.
In Peru, I spent five years selling door to door—vacuum cleaners, cold call by cold call—while studying at Universidad Nacional del Callao. During that period, I received an international award recognizing outstanding achievement in direct sales. By 22, I was a sales supervisor in the automotive industry, later managing dealerships for Toyota, Hyundai, and Daewoo.
Construction taught me discipline.
Ten years of hands-on work in the United States, building a trade and a business from the ground up.
Insurance taught me the value of preparation.
After rebuilding my career, I passed the California Life & Health Insurance licensing exam on my first attempt—an experience that reinforced the value of disciplined preparation before returning to a professional business environment.
The Philippines taught me reinvention.
In 2017, I relocated here, ran a retail business with my wife for several years, then made the leap back into corporate life—first as a bilingual Spanish customer service representative, and later into enterprise account management, supporting enterprise wholesale telecommunications customers across Latin America and the US.
"I didn't come to the Philippines to build a business. I came because life brought me here. I stayed because I found people whose growth I genuinely wanted to support."
Working alongside Filipino professionals, I saw the talent, the work ethic, and the potential firsthand. I also saw the barrier holding many of them back—not ability, but the lack of practical language training built for their industry. That's the gap I decided to close.
I wasn't trying to create another Spanish course. I wanted to create the course I wish had existed when I first entered the BPO industry.
Across every chapter of my career—sales, construction, insurance, corporate accounts—one thing stayed constant: I loved teaching. Whether I was training salespeople, helping colleagues, or mentoring new team members, I found the greatest satisfaction in seeing others succeed.
Spanish for BPO Academy exists to give others the practical training I once wished I'd had.
I believe the best learning is practical, relevant, and rooted in real-world experience—not memorization.
Knowledge changes nothing. Applied knowledge changes careers.
Everything I've learned about how adults actually acquire new skills—through practice, repetition, and real scenarios rather than theory—became the foundation of The Spanish for BPO Method™.
Explore the Method →I've built a life and a family in the Philippines, and I've seen firsthand the extraordinary potential in this talented workforce. My commitment is simple: to give every student the practical Spanish communication skills that can genuinely change the trajectory of their career, the way learning new skills changed mine.
